Research Comparison

One of the first things that I noticed was different about the Great River Regional library than the OPAC was that you could do an alphabetical search. They both had such links as a keyword and subject search. When I did a keyword search on college diversity and found that the books from the Great River Regional Library had more to do with my topic than resulted from the same keyword search with the OPAC database. I had 7 hits with the GRRL and 176 hits with OPAC.

  1. You received some interesting results from GRRL, Nadiea. Are you saying that even though you had 176 hits from the Miller Center Library OPAC, the 7 you retrieved from GRRL were more relevant?

  2. Yea.. it was weird five of the seven had to do with my topic. and those five were right on target, whereas with the other one it did have things that were related but there was a lot more sifting to go through
