Proposal

So the proposal process is a lot harder for me than I thought it would. Every time I go over my methodology I keep remembering things that I wanted to put in my project. More information that I still need to add. I also feel like I have to write two methodologies because Im trying to improve recruitment and retention for CAAS and the school at large. Its a lot and Im a little warn out. Worse than that I dont know how to write this budget. I know the things I want to do are going to cost money but I dont know how much. Further more I dont know where to get the money from. This is a project that I am invested in and I want the goals to be realistic and attainable and right now I dont feel that my goals as far as the school are attainable.

  1. Hi Nadiea,

You might want to touch base with Ashlee again, as I advised that she handle the high school recruitment part of the project. If you are handling the retention part of the project (i.e., keeping students at SCSU once they are here) you can focus on CAAS.

Before you work up your budget, make sure that you have included all of your steps of what you will do in preparation for the study, during the study, and after the study in the methodology. You can write up a list of people/organizations you would need to contact for permissions or assistance, as well as costs for any supplies or services (printing, Survey Monkey, etc) that you would need in order to conduct the study.

The sky's the limit on the budget, as I put no restrictions on how much you would need to spend.

It is not a terrible thing to be ambitious, but from what I have read and understood so far, it seems that your proposal will be addressing how to gather more information from potential or current students to find out how the university can serve them better. Focus on that for the proposal. Keep in mind the number of people who would be available to assist you as well. Without willing volunteers, it is difficult to get things done!

I am looking forward to seeing your proposal draft!

    Sincerely,
    R. Wexelbaum
